AuxiGel™ Injectable Hydrogel Scaffold

AuxiGel™ Injectable Hydrogel Scaffold is a versatile laboratory kit which can be used in a wide range tissue engineering applications. It is based on an invention by researchers from the University of Uppsala and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm who developed the material as an aid for regeneration of bone and cartilage tissue1. The scaffold is mainly built up by the natural extra cellular matrix component Hyaluronic Acid (Hyaluronan), which has been modified to a low extent to enable chemical crosslinking by mixing with a multifunctional polymer counterpart. The cross-linking reaction is highly efficient, non-toxic and proceeds rapidly both in vitro and in vivo.

AuxiGel™ can either be provided with the components in lyophilized form, or as a kit with the Hyaluronan component in a pre-filled syringe and the cross-linker in a separate vial. Once the components have been dissolved in your choice of aqueous solution or suspension and withdrawn into luer-lock syringes, simply connect the two syringes and mix back and forth during 20 seconds and the hydrogel is ready to inject.
